Grey Japan hires Yasushi Ogata from DDB as senior creative director

Ad agency Grey Group Japan has hired Yasushi Ogata from DDB as senior creative director.

Japan, 25 July, 2014 – Grey Group Japan announces the hire of new Senior Creative Director, Yasushi Ogata. He reports directly to Tatsuhisa Nakajima, VP, Executive Creative Director of Grey Group Japan.

Ogata brings with him a wealth of experience. Some of the internationally-renowned brands he has worked on include P&G, Unilever, Lipton, Philip Morris, McDonald’s, Nichirei, Alfa Romeo, Volkswagen, Northwest Airlines, Amex, Financial Times, Motorola, IBM and SAP.

He joins Grey Group from DDB Japan where he was Senior Creative Director. He has previously worked in agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather Japan K.K. and Beacon Communications K.K., which is part of Leo Burnett Japan.

Ogata is an experienced creative with a raft of awards to his name including recognitions from Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, London International Festival, New York Festivals, Yomiuri Advertising Award, Tokyo Copywriter’s Club Awards, Japan Radio & Television Commercial Confederation Awards, Dentsu Advertising Awards and Nikkei BP Advertising Award.

Nakajima said, “Ogata has proven himself to be a key player in developing big ideas that works across multiple consumer touchpoints. His capability in using unconventional media will bring forth bold work with a clear focus. I look forward to working with him.”

Ogata has a passion for cooking and currently holds a chef’s license.
