Clear Channel gives Singapore commuters free content if they tap or scan interactive billboards

Clear Channel billboardOutdoor media firm Clear Channel is hoping to encourage Singapore commuters to interact with its digital billboards by offering them free content to be accessed via their mobile devices.

Commuters will get access to news and entertainment content from, Juice Media, Magazines Integrated and SPH Digital if they tap or scan an NFC and QR code-enabled Clear Channel billboard with their smartphones.

A monthly giveaway contest will reward those who most frequently interact with the panels, which are fitted with mobile interactive ad platform Connect.

“We have made this investment (in Connect) because of consumer want and need, to be able to engage with brands individually, immediately and effectively. We bridge the online and offline worlds by combining our outstanding audience reach with personal engagement through increasingly sophisticated, geo-optimised, and socially-charged mobile devices,” said Kelly Khoo, CEO of Clear Channel Singapore.

“Connect provides what OOH already does very well, which is, context, and now, it delivers content,” she said. “It enables advertisers to continually follow the journey of the consumer and trigger content that is completely appropriate for the individual at that moment in time.”

All of Clear Channel’s 3,800 six-sheet ad panels and 30 digital ad panels in Singapore are now fitted with Connect technology, which can deliver to mobile devices videos, e-vouchers, games and other content.
