SingTel offers free preview of Malay and Indonesian content

SingTel has announced a free preview of Malay and Indonesian content on three channels available on pay-TV platform mio TV – !nsert, Showcase, and Bioskop Indonesia.

The announcement comes the day after rival StarHub made public the launch of Malay comedy channel Astro Warna.

Fans of Malay and Indonesian content will have much to cheer about starting this December, as SingTel mio TV offers its entire customer base a free preview of three TransTV channels – !nsert, Showcase, and Bioskop Indonesia from 15 December 2014 to 15 February 2015.

Available from Monday 15 December for the first time in Singapore, the three channels from the leading provider of Indonesian content will offer the best mix of lifestyle and entertainment programmes, much enhancing the selection of quality Malay content on SingTel mio TV.

With the addition of !nsert, Showcase, and Bioskop Indonesia, customers can now enjoy a complete suite of premium Malay channels that feature the best in entertainment for the entire Malay family, with mio TV’s selection of top rated Indonesian channels, the best content from Astro (Ria, Prima & Astro First), the latest in Korean content and entertainment, and highly-rated US dramas and entertainment shows airing within 24 hours of their US broadcast.

Home of the latest entertainment news, celebrities, celeb news and gossip from Indonesia. !nsert delivers breaking entertainment news and in-depth coverage on television, movies, music, celebrities, fashion, beauty and lifestyle. The channel features up-to-the-minute headlines and topics that will fascinate and engage viewers. Audiences will also be able to catch programs that have been aired on TRANS TV & TRANS 7 on the same day.

Showcase (Ch 613)

Indonesia’s best comedy, reality and talk shows are all here. This premium general entertainment channel is your one-stop, all-in-one channel offering the latest in celebrity-driven infotainment, trendy lifestyle shows, variety and cutting-edge late night programs.  With its excellent array of programs, the Showcase channel will satisfy audiences’ cravings for everything Indonesian, including the latest programs that are fresh and new. SingTel mio TV viewers will be the first outside of Indonesia to enjoy these shows.

Bioskop Indonesia (Ch 615)

!nsert, Showcase, and Bioskop Indonesia will be available for free preview to all mio TV customers fortwo months, from 15 December 2014 to 15 February 2015. Biggest Catalogue of Malay On-Demand Movies on Astro First

Thanks to a recently concluded deal with Astro, SingTel mio TV now also has the largest on-demand Malay movie catalogue, featuring movies from all major and independent Malaysian movie producers such as Skop Productions, Tayangan Unggul, Astro Shaw, Line Clear Films, etc. The Cine-Ekspres service now carries more titles that premiere within two weeks or close to cinematic release.

From this deal, titles such as Lagenda Budak Setan 3, Amir & Loqman Pergi Ke Laut, Mistik Syirik Tahyuland many other latest releases from Malaysia will be available for viewing. Filem Kita will also carry a beefed up catalogue. Popular box office hits such as KL Gangster, Lawak Ke Der and Adik Manja Returnswill be available for customers and families to enjoy.

This deal also enables SingTel mio TV to offer “Super Telemovie” titles, which are not available in cinemas, to its subscribers. The first of these is Saloma, a two-part biopic about P Ramlee’s wife starring Nabila Huda.
