Ogilvy wins launch brief for CES Asia

CES AsiaOgilvy has been appointed by the Consumer Electronics Association to handle the launch of the first CES Asia show in Shanghai later this year.

The agency takes on a brief to help showcase the latest technologies to consumer elections industry executives, domestic and foreign buyers, international media and Chinese consumers.

The event will kick off on May 25 for two days.

The agency has experience promoting events in China, such as the IBM Smarter Cities forum and helping Caterpillar launch their website and mobile app community.

Ogilvy China boss Chris Reitermann said: “By leveraging our services across the board – from K1ND to social buzz to exciting activation activities – our team will help CES Asia gain the momentum they need to captivate the Asia technology marketplace.”

CES is the US-based trade association representing the US$223 billion American consumer electronics industry. TBWA’s global head of innovation Luke Eid reflected on what the recent CES show in Las Vegas means for marketers in an opinion piece last month.
