Online News Association launches in Singapore

Three Yahoo journalists have teamed up to form the Asian arm of the Online News Association, a non-for-profit group originally founded in the US to connect those working in digital journalism.

ONA Singapore has been founded by Alan Soon, the managing editor of Yahoo Southeast Asia and India, Asha Philips, an editor at Yahoo Southeast Asia who runs content consultancy Verily, and Janie Octia, Yahoo’s editorial operations manager.

ONA Singapore logoThe group has been created with a mission to make connections between media, technology and innovation, and will hold events, training and seminars. The first meeting will take place on 9 March at Sabio on Duxton Hill.

To join ONA costs $150 for a three-year membership.
