AOL Platforms hires Carl Costa as APAC business lead

AOL Platforms, the programmatic arm of AOL that was unveiled in Southeast Asia a few months ago, has appointed a Asia Pacific business lead.

Carl Costa joins the company from social content marketing platform Stackla, where he was an investor. He moved to Singapore from London in 2012, taking on the role of GM at mobile real-time bidding firm StrikeAd.

Costa’s brief is to introduce to the market ONE by AOL, the company’s cross-screen programmatic ad platform.

AOL has also hired Amobee campaign manager Jane Sng as client services manager.

Sng and Costa will report to Alex Kahn, AOL Platforms’ MD for Southeast Asia.

“Carl and Jane match our quest in bringing both culture and code to life through our investments in programmatic and video platforms,” said Khan.

“They both understand our technology, know the region and are sold on the opportunity. Together we are committed to providing brands, agencies and publishers with the best in class programmatic solutions across all platforms and the latest hires are a reflection of that.

“Furthermore APAC is expected to account for a third* of the world’s digital ad-spend this year, and an increasing proportion of that will be video. Advertisers will be seeking effective ways of buying inventory and to track effectiveness in real-time. We provide that solution, and we know Carl and Jane will do a great job helping to spread the message across the region,” he said.
