Wyeth salutes sacrifice Chinese parents make for their children in 100th birthday ad

Pharma and nutrition giant Wyeth has launched a campaign in China to celebrate the company’s 100 anniversary.

In a two-minute ad created by McCann, the efforts parents go to raise their children are highlighted, as well as the role Wyeth’s nutrition products have played in helping children grow.

The ad is to run on campaign website, and the campaign is to run out of home, in social, and as WeChat sponsored ads.

McCann Shanghai has also designed a series of gifts to award young parents for their efforts, such as baby bibs with comical messages, such as “Before my mom used to love selfies, now she only takes photos of me!” and “Before, my mother used to be beautiful woman, now she’s a superwoman”.

Ellen Hou, group MD of McCann Worldgroup shanghai, said: “We believe in humanity and we’re putting that humanity and truth into the soul of our marketing approach. It’s a heartfelt way for a brand to celebrate its 100 years of impact by exploring stories of their eternal loving sacrifices and transformations they have made to become better people but more importantly better parents.”

The campaign will run until the end of this month.
