NooTrees proposes ‘a greener answer to nature’s call’ with haze-free toilet roll

Singapore independent creative agency Day 28 has launched a new campaign to promote ‘a greener answer to nature’s call’, toilet roll made from sustainably source bamboo rather than trees.

A cinema ad, narrated by the voice of a child, explains the impact the paper and pulp industry has on the environment and proposes NooTrees as an alternative at a time when Singapore continues to suffer from an ongoing bout of haze caused by the burning of rainforest land in Indonesia.

David Ward, GM of NooTrees, said that the idea of the ad was to raise awareness of how regular toilet paper is made, and do so in a manner that is entertaining not alarming.

“It was important that this important message was shared in a way that is engaging and not too dark, as the audience is in the cinema and wants to be entertained,” he said.

Day 28 founder Daniel Ng added: “We are very proud to be working with a green brand like NooTrees, that removes the most crucial component – trees, and replaces them with a highly sustainable alternative – bamboo.”

The commercial that will be airing across seven Golden Village theatres for six weeks starting today.
