Dentsu Aegis has acquired creative agency Aspac in the Philippines.

The agency founded in 1975 as Aspac Communications by Max B. Ramos, now known as Aspac Creative Communications and run by the founder’s son, Miguel Ramos, has formalised a relationship that started in 2012. The two companies have worked together on clients Honda and Toshiba.

Dentsu Aegis has taken a majority stake in the agency, which will retain its name.

Ramos will remain in the role of chairman, Susan Dimacali as CEO, Angel Antonio as COO and Joey Ong as chief creative officer.

Dick van Motman, chairman and CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Southeast Asia said: “It’s a pleasure to officially welcome ASPAC to the Dentsu Aegis Network family. We’ve seen great potential for our business in the Philippines to expand on our creative talent and services. This acquisition is a strategic investment to further grow our footprint in the local scene and to continue to strengthen our presence in the sixth largest advertising market in Asia Pacific.”

The news comes the day after Aspac announced the new business win of Ginebra San Miguel.
