Dentsu Aegis-owned creative agency Mcgarrybowen has launched an office in Hong Kong, helmed by former DDB Hong Kong boss Simone Tam and her creative partner Jeffry Gamble.

Tam and Gamble currently run Mcgarrybowen China based in Shanghai, and will continue to lead the agency they launched a year a go after leaving DDB, as Greater China CEO and Greater China chief creative officer, respectively. The agency’s clients include Intel, Estée Lauder, The Cheesecake Factory, and Kangshifu Juice.

The Hong Kong launch is part of Dentsu Aegis’ strategy to develop the agency in Asia with quality talent and in strategic cities, the network’s APAC CEO Nick Waters said.

“We aim to build on Simone and Jeffry’s strong knowledge of the Hong Kong market and, adding to the agency’s Shanghai and Singapore operations, seek to create regional opportunities. With high quality leadership in three strategic Asian cities we will also look to develop west to east and east to west opportunities for the growing mcgarrybowen global network,” he said.

Tam added: “Jeffry and I have strong career and industry roots in Hong Kong, and we look forward to continuing the momentum and expanding mcgarrybowen’s network and client offering in the APAC region.”

The launch comes six months Mcgarrybowen acquired a presence in Singapore when it bought a share in Mangham Gaxiola.

Last month, Mcgarrybowen, in partnership with its parent, acquired SAME SAME but different, a French agency with a luxury offering in New York, Paris, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
