Dr Mumbo is pleased for digital marketing agency Growmint, which announced it had won a couple of briefs for Indonesian tobacco giant Gudang Garam this afternoon.

Well done, guys (pictured above next to a GG Mild poster complete with grinning skulls of death public health warning).

However, there are a few things about the press release from the agency that are a little hazy.

First is what the agency has been tasked to do, which we are told is to use digital marketing to provide “the highest quality of cigarette experience to consumers”.

So, a digital marketing campaign that doubles as a box of matches provided after sex, presumably?

And then there’s the quote from the client.

“We were impressed with how Growmint not only deep dives into the soul of the brand, but their culture also revolves completely around the brand,” Muhammad Taufiqurrahman, digital manager for GG Mild, was quoted as saying.

Which does lead Dr Mumbo to imagine an agency not so much as championing “the style of new generation,” but looking a bit like this.
