Y&R NZLeicester City football clubDr Mumbo was wondering how long it would take for an advertising agency to compare itself to the unlikely new champions of the English Premier League.

Congratulations Y&R New Zealand, who were touted in an emailed press release today as “the Leicester City of advertising” for their performance at D&AD, the world’s most difficult to win ad show.

“Y&R NZ is the Leicester City of advertising – world’s biggest winner at D&AD,” the email read.

The agency has “made history” by being the first Kiwi agency to be the most awarded at D&AD, winning eight pencils, six of them yellow, mostly for its McWhopper campaign, which attempted a peace deal between Burger King and McDonald’s by creating a jointly made burger.
