Former India cricket skipper Sourav Ganguly fronts campaign for courier firm DTDC Express

The former captain of the Indian cricket team, Sourav Ganguly, has appeared as brand ambassador for courier service DTDC Express as the company aims to position itself as “going beyond the parcel”.

Publicis has created a 90-second film that will air on TV, cinema and digital channels, with the intention of showcasing the scale and extent of DTDC’s network and the emotion felt when people receive a parcel.

Publicis South Asia chief creative officer Bobby Pawar said: “When the team started working on the brief, we looked for the true meaning of the box. We realised it’s not just a container, but a carrier.

“Sometimes, it carries the joy of an unexpected surprise. Other times the sigh of relief when what needed reaches on time. Or at times a quiet smile that blossoms from receiving a thoughtful gift. Or the triumphs of getting an order reach on schedule. This is what the campaign is based on.”

DTDC Express executive director Abhishek Chakraborty said the campaign is intended to demonstrate that the business is more than transporting parcels from A to B.

“Every parcel brings with it, a bagful of emotions for the customer in the form of anticipation, excitement, love, relief or aspiration,” he said. “We are helping realizing aspirations, beyond any boundaries.”

The campaign will also include outdoor advertising.
