IPG Mediabrands appoints former Nielsen VP Albany Woo

IPG Mediabrands has named 23-year Nielsen veteran Albany Woo as head of analytics for Asia-Pacific.

Woo replaces David Clugston, who has joined Microsoft as marketing analytics lead in Singapore. He will lead IPG’s analytics divisions across the APAC region as well as overseeing the global technology hub in Manila. He will also work closely with the IPG’s data and analytics division Mediabrands Insights.

Woo first joined Nielsen in 1994 as associate director in Malaysia. In 2000, he moved to the global research firm’s base in Hong Kong, where he was director of international research for three years.

Immediately prior to joining IPG, Woo led Nielsen in Bangkok for 13 years as vice president of innovation practice for APAC and executive director.

In his new role, Woo will report to IPG Mediabrands APAC chief executive Leigh Terry and will be based in Singapore.

Terry said: “Albany’s passionate work towards progressing the industry through advanced analytical solutions is a great match for our culture of innovation and transformation at Mediabrands.”
