IPG Mediabrands promotes Craig Harvey to APAC head of research

IPG Mediabrands has promoted Craig Harvey to the newly created role of regional head of research Asia-Pacific in yet another change to the holding company’s senior leadership.

Harvey was formerly head of business science for the group Hong Kong. In his new role, he will be responsible for research and development across the APAC region. Harvey’s new role is effective immediately and his time will be split between Hong Kong and Singapore.

He will report to Mediabrands chief strategy officer Matt Scotton, who said: “Craig’s intimate knowledge of the business and aptitude for insights and innovation make him the perfect choice to unite and connect our global tools and systems, while championing invention across the region.”

Harvey has worked at Mediabrands for seven years in various roles. He was previously a director for marketing research company Synovate and regional director for consumer insight at Publicis Groupe Media APAC.

His promotion follows a number of senior hires made by Mediabrands across APAC. Last week, the group promoted Abhishek Bhattacharjee from executive director for digital to chief digital officer for Malaysia. Earlier last month, the company appointed Naomi Michael, formerly of OMD Australia, to the newly created role of head of marketing APAC.

Mediabrands also lost its regional communications planning director, Pablo Gómez Martínez, who left the group to join WPP’s Kantar Millward Brown as head of media in the middle of March.
