Weber Shandwick buys China-focused data science company Bomoda

Public relations agency Weber Shandwick has acquired a China-focused data scientce company in a bid to expand its analytics and measurement capabilities.

The IPG agency acquired the Shanghai and New York-based Bomoda for an undisclosed sum.

The announcement:

Headquartered in New York, Bomoda is a leading data science and business intelligence firm with specialisation in influencer marketing and digital commerce. The firm’s sophisticated consumer insights platform is based on state-of-the-art artificial intelligence and natural language processing. Leveraging consumer behaviour data collected and analysed from China’s largest mobile and social platforms, Bomoda provides strategic counsel and unique data-driven insights to many leading brands and companies in China. 

Concurrently, Weber Shandwick also announced the acquisition of Resolute Digital, a full-service digital marketing and technology company with deep expertise in audience intelligence, performance marketing, website analytics, mobile and web design. It was among the first Google Analytics certified partners. Also headquartered in New York, its data-first approach to audience intelligence, customer acquisition and brand engagement has delivered sophisticated digital, mobile and paid media solutions for some of the world’s leading companies and brands.
