Outbrain APAC’s Fionn Hyndman exits
The commercial director of Outbrain Asia-Pacific, Fionn Hyndman, has parted ways with the company after just over one year.
Hyndman, who first joined the content discovery platform in Singapore in October 2016, is understood to have left “on mutual terms” as the company plans to rethink its regional strategy.
His departure follows that of Outbrain’s brand agency head Jonathan Pacey, who also left the company after a short tenure of just six months.
Both Outbrain and Hyndman were unable to comment at the time of publication.
Hyndman has spent the past 10 years in Asia, having first moved to Singapore in 2007 to found the regional branch of the performance agency dgm – which was bought by Omnicom Media Group in 2010.
Following its sale, he joined Asia Pacific Growth Management, an independent consulting and investment firm, as a partner. He left in September 2016 to join Outbrain in the newly-created role of commercial director.
He has also served on the boards of APD and China Search International.
Last year, the company announced it was cutting four per cent of its workforce as part of a refocus towards programmatic media trading, rather than editorial tools.
Although Outbrain APAC told Mumbrella Asia at the time that the layoffs did not hit the region, managing director Ayal Steiner indicated the business’s renewed direction in an interview with this site earlier this year.
