Conference money advice to come from Joe Seunghyun Cho, who owed $1.8m in rent
Being a penny-pinching old fella, Dr Mumbo is always on the lookout for new ways to save his hard earned brass.
So that’s why he will definitely be attending this March’s Money2020 conference in Singapore, where he is certain he will learn from the best: Ari Saker, the co-president of Mastercard, Piyush Gupta, the CEO of DBS Group, and Joe Seunghyun Cho. The latter being famous for, well, this:
For those needing a memory refresher, Cho is the founder of FinTech co-working space Lattice80, which unceremoniously left all its incubator businesses in the lurch when it missed a few bill payments or two.
Cho was also a prominent face in the Singapore Tourism Board ‘Passion Made Possible’ campaign, although the STB subsequently dropped him following a few unappetising press reports.
As such, Dr Mumbo was rather surprised to see Cho appearing on the line-up as a regional leader on the financial industry. He was even more surprised to see Lattice80’s own promotional material of the talk featuring Cho dressed as an astronaut:
Because you know FinTech and space exploration have a lot in common right? So unless Cho’s talk involves a recreation of the American Moon Landings, Dr Mumbo suspects he’ll give that session a miss. Dr M quite frankly doesn’t need any more lessons on how to avoid his landlord. Just joking people.
Joe is not giving our money for 2 years. More than 200 korean individuals invested on him 20 Million US dollars. He keeps saying he will give money back soon, and delay and delay and delay
