Singapore Press Holdings makes senior appointments in move to bolster digital division
Singapore Press Holdings has announced the appointment of a chief technology officer and a chief product officer in a move to ramp up its digital division.
Glen Francis will join as CTO later this month with responsibility for technology and digital across the business, while Gaurav Sachdeva has been named CPO with effect from Monday.
Prior to joining SPH, Francis was the founder and president of CIO Academy Asia. He was also the former Group CIO of Global Logistics Properties.
Francis, who will report to chief executive Ng Yat Chung, will initially focus on overseeing the digital technology team which is responsible for SPH’s suite of digital media products including The Straits Times, The Business Times and Lianhe Zaobao.
From August he will also spearhead the IT Division, taking over from executive vice president of IT Low Huan Ping who will retire in October.
Meanwhile, head of the digital division, Julian Tan, 45, has been appointed chief of digital business with a focus on growing SPH’s portfolio of investments in digital businesses.
Francis said: “SPH is facing exciting times of transformation and I look forward to being part of the team that will help steer the company ahead in this digital age.
“I strongly believe that SPH can overcome current challenges to seize every opportunity that comes with technological advancements and evolving media consumption habits.”
New chief product officer Sachdeva will work with the Media Group division on the vision, design, development and monetisation of the media firm’s digital content and products.
He will report to deputy chief executive Anthony Tan.
Sachdeva was most recently head of product for Growth Hacking & Innovation, and Chief-of-Staff for products at Grab.
