TBWA’s Ronnie Wu promoted to chief creative officer in China

Former executive creative director at TBWA\Shanghai Ronnie Wu has been promoted to chief creative officer at TBWA\China with immediate effect. He joined TBWA\Shanghai at the end of 2015 as ECD.

TBWA\Greater China chief executive officer Joanne Lao labelled Wu as a “world class Chinese talent who is an inspiring, ambitious creative leader”.

She added: “His adept understanding of the market and consumer, led him to deepen the creative departments innovative digital capabilities and foster a co-creative, agile creative culture across the entire agency. The growth of this department allows us to work smarter and at speed, developing creative solutions that place our client brands in cultural conversation.”

Following his appointment, Wu said: “Over the last few years at TBWA, I’ve been fortunate to work in a culture that consistently challenges the conventions, working with a fantastic group of individuals and teams. I am very proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to helping shape the future of creativity in China.”

The agency claimed Wu was one of the youngest Chinese chief creative officers, yet also one of the most awarded with recognition from Cannes, D&AD, LIA, New York Festivals, Clios, ADC, Spikes Asia and AdFest.

President of TBWA\Asia Ian Pearman added: “China is a very important market for us, and our clients. With Ronnie at the creative helm of our China collective, we’re looking forward to seeing some great things.”
