Mumbrella Asia Awards launches with Mars marketing head, Nicole McMillan, as jury chair

The annual Mumbrella Asia Awards is now open for entries with this year seeing Mars AMEA vice-president of marketing Nicole McMillan as jury chair, the introduction of five new categories and the return of live judging.

Jurors will come together in Singapore on October 11 and 12, at Maxwell Chambers, for the second round of judging – in order to witness live presentations from those shortlisted, either in person or via conference calls.

Members of the jury will then get the opportunity to ask questions about the work and submissions, ensuring the judging process is both robust and credible.

McMillan will lead the jury of 200 mainly client-side marketers

Chairing the 200-strong jury of mainly client-side marketers will be McMillan – Mars VP of marketing for Asia, the Middle East and Africa. She has been with the confectionary brand since 2007, relocating to Singapore from Hong Kong in August of last year.

“Thanks to Nicole coming onboard plus two rounds of judging and a large jury of high-profile client-side marketers, the awards will be harder than ever to win this year,” said Mumbrella Asia publisher Dean Carroll. “That’s exactly how we want it, so that only the gold standard work triumphs.”

The awards show is now in its fifth year and last year the ceremony saw hundreds of senior marketing, creative, media, communications and advertising professionals come together to champion great work.

For 2018, Mumbrella Asia has also introduced five new awards categories:

  • Mobile Ad of the Year
  • Media Brand of the Year
  • Marketing Team/Marketer of the Year
