Comedian Gurmit Singh recalls emotional childhood memories in campaign for OCBC Bank

Creative agency GOVT Singapore has produced a campaign for OCBC Bank which recounts the untold story of comedian Gurmit Singh.

A three-minute film, directed by Royston Tan, is narrated by Singh and takes him back to his childhood where he recounts his cash-strapped, but happy upbringing, and the loss of his parents.

The campaign, Imperfect Journeys, is promoting OCBC Bank’s Life Goals programme.

GOVT creative director Stephen Kyriakou said the bank deserved praise for its “bravery” in sanctioning the work.

“Our team has been working tirelessly to push the creative work into spaces rarely seen by a Singaporean bank,” he said. “It’s motivating to see that effort paying off, and hopefully it rewards our clients’ bravery and trust in us.”
