New APAC marcoms director at Havas – as Arundhati Saha joins the agency

Following the departure of former Havas Asia-Pacific marketing and communications director Asiya Bakht to BBH, Arundhati Saha has been announced as her replacement.

Saha is well known in the marketing and communications industry

Saha, who was in a similar post for six years at Omnicom Media Group before stepping down in November last year, takes on the role of Havas APAC marketing and communications director with immediate effect.

She will report directly to Havas APAC chief executive officer and chairman Mike Amour. An agency spokesperson said her focus would be to “work closely with the senior regional leadership and global communications team to elevate brand awareness and reputation in sync with the ‘Together’ strategy designed to accelerate integration by breaking silos across creative and media functions”.

Amour is ‘delighted’ with the hire

On the appointment, Amour said: “Our success as a network is determined by the strength of our people.

“Arun brings a wealth of experience in internal and external communications leveraging public relations, content creation, thought-leadership, stakeholder mapping, and brand development.

“This will add momentum to our communications strategy, help us strengthen our corporate reputation, and articulate our value proposition of radical collaboration to create a seamless Havas and broader Vivendi experience for our clients. I am delighted to welcome her to the team.”

Saha, who is known in the industry as ‘Arun’, said she took the role because she was impressed by the Havas model that reflected “the demand for integrated solutions to help clients navigate an increasingly complex advertising and marketing landscape”.

She added: “By bringing together the best of media, creative, technology, Havas is uniquely placed to offer unparalleled solutions rooted in agility, smart thinking and a future-forward approach,” said Saha on her appointment.

Previously, as well as OMG Saha had worked for Ogilvy and Batey Communications in Singapore, and Genesis PR in Mumbai, India. She has master of arts degree in marketing and communications from Leeds University Business School.
