DAN veteran Audrey Kuah gets expanded mandate as ED of media for APAC

Audrey Kuah has been named the executive director of media business for Asia-Pacific by Dentsu Aegis Network. This is in addition to her current role as managing director of Dentsu Aegis Network’s global data innovation centre.

In her new role, Kuah will work closely with Dentsu’s newly formed OneSG Media Group managing director Phil Adrien. Her expanded role is effective starting April 1 and she reports to Masaya Nakamura, deputy chairman and chief growth officer of Dentsu Aegis Network APAC.

In her current role, Kuah is at the helm of a team of data scientists, engineers and product specialists developing marketing products and platforms for DAN.

Apart from her role at DAN, Kuah recently became a board member of the Singapore Tourism Board and sits on the board of the Interactive Advertising Bureau Southeast Asia and India Regional Committee

Kuah joined as CEO of Aegis Media Singapore in 2011, prior to the merger with DAN. In her tenure as CEO, she is credited with transforming the group and its brands like Carat, Vizeum and iProspect.

She was later chief client officer for South East Asia working on international client development for non-Japanese clients across the region.

Previous to joining Aegis she was with with GroupM and founder and partner at marketing consulting firm Litmus.

Kuah’s expanded mandate is the latest in a spate of management changes at DAN. New structures – including the One SG Media Group – have been put in place and several senior members of the management team including South East Asia CEO Phil Teeman have left the network.

Speaking about her appointment, Dentsu Aegis Network APAC deputy chairman and chief growth officer Masaya Nakamura said: “Audrey has been instrumental in the transformation of our network since 2011.

“Over the years, she displayed a solid record of building high calibre teams, making real visionary insights and transforming brands. Audrey demonstrates a deep understanding of the business landscape and is the right person to lead our OneSG Media Group together with Phil. I look forward to working closely with her.”

Kuah added: “I’ve had an amazing journey with Dentsu Aegis Network starting with being CEO of an integrated marketing services company (Aegis Singapore) and then working with the integration model made famous by Dentsu in my role of chief client officer (international clients) Dentsu Aegis Network Southeast Asia.

“I was thereafter given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to helm our network’s R&D centre – where we’ve experienced significant milestones and breakthroughs creating next generation business solutions for clients and brands, and now in this expanded role to develop a media and performance practice in Asia Pacific that innovates how brands are built to win in the digital economy.

“I look forward to this new chapter and could not be more excited to work together with the incredible talent to drive the network’s transformation journey.”
