Hill+Knowlton Strategies China hires ex-Ogilvy managing partner Jeff Leong

PR firm Hill+Knowlton Strategies China has hired Jeff Leong as senior vice president of client strategy.

Leong was previously the managing partner at Ogilvy China working on Huawei, but he left the agency in 2016 according to his LinkedIn profile. He has also worked with ad agencies like Bates 141 and Y&R.

The announcement:

Jeff Leong has joined Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) China as Senior Vice President of Client Strategy, effective immediately.

Bringing over two decades of experience in creative strategy, branding and integrated marketing, Jeff will be responsible for the development of key accounts and support new business development in the Greater Bay Area, working in close partnership with Florence Ouyang (Director, H+K Shenzhen) and Nan Dong (MD, H+K Hong Kong).

H+K China CEO and President, QC Liang, comments, “We welcome Jeff at an exciting time as we continue our focus on the Greater Bay Area. He will play an active role in strengthening our Shenzhen offer as a hub for excellence across China as well as bringing unrivalled experience to support Chinese brands going global, especially the technology companies based in the Great Bay Area.”

Previously, Jeff spent several years as Managing Partner at Ogilvy China leading the agency’s Huawei team, and prior to that, held senior client servicing roles at Y&R Beijing, Soho Square Shanghai (part of Ogilvy group), and Bates 141.
