Jayesh Easwaramony exits InMobi as senior vice president of TruFactor

Jayesh Easwaramony has left mobile advertising specialist InMobi. He was most recently senior vice president at TruFactor a business unit of  InMobi, created after it acquired Pinsight Media, the data and advertising company of the US-based Sprint Telecom.

A veteran at InMobi with nearly eight years of experience, he was previously senior vice president and managing director Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa. He had previously worked for Tata Sky, Star TV and moved to Singapore in 2006 as vice president at Frost and Sullivan.

Speaking to Mumbrella about his decision to move on from InMobi, Easwaramony said: “I had spent close to eight years and it had been a successful journey in four phases: startup, hyper growth, driving it to profitability and finally revenue diversification over the last couple of years. Having done all of that, I thought it was a good time to move on.” 

Reflecting on his career, Easwaramony said: “I feel very proud of the business I have built. Based on what our customers have said about us, we have managed to create an impact. Seeing the respect that our team has on the ground has been quite fulfilling. InMobi has always had a great culture in terms of people: we’ve rarely seen attrition to competition at a tier lower than us.”

Speaking about his plans for the future, Easwaramony said: “I have nothing immediate planned, but I am looking at a few broad areas – data businesses or B2B tech firms who want to scale in Asia. Overall, a lot of marketing implementation is to be done and driving outcomes using data and tools is still a journey for most marketers.” 

Easwaramony said that succession planning had been put in place at InMobi last year. The ad business at the regional level has been under the oversight of Asia-Pacific managing director Vasuta Agarwal who is based in Bangalore, India.
