Alipay tells China: we do more than payments
J. Walter Thompson has created a campaign for new client Alipay, a payments firm that is affiliated with e-commerce giant Alibaba.
Ads aim to inform Chinese viewers that Alipay has gone beyond online payments to introduce features such as a social messaging platform, family accounts and business vendor functions.
The first in the series is set in a restaurant where a woman and her man are having dinner.
A second ad features a man in an office who is bombarded with requests for payment.
J. Walter Thompson won the Alipay business in a pitch in June.
