Mediabrands Hong Kong wins Pacsafe digital account

IPG Mediabrands has scooped the digital account for anti-theft travel gear brand Pacsafe following a competitive pitch.

The account will be taken over by the group’s performance agency Reprise and media arm UM, and will cover digital and programmatic strategy.

Pacsafe previously worked with multiple agencies, including OMD on search, but has since consolidated all its duties into one account with Mediabrands.

The new appointment is effective immediately. The Hong Kong-headquartered brand also recently selected IPG-owned PR agency Golin as its communications agency-of-record.

Pacsafe vice president for marketing and e-commerce Simon MacGregor said:“We looked hard and long for an agency that could really provide global thinking with understanding of local intricacies of execution. The team at IPG Mediabrands really brought this to the table. It’s an exciting time at Pacsafe as we bring further innovations to the market place to help people everywhere travel better.”

Mediabrands has recently picked up a slew of new business in the Asia-Pacific region, including digital duties with insurer AIA in Malaysia and Coach as part of a global win.

However, the company suffered a recent setback following the resignation of global head Henry Tajer and the subsequent departure of the Singapore-based chief financial officer Reg Davidson.
